Welcome to your Wellbeing and Weight Loss journey! Your journey towards a healthy lifestyle starts here. Our Wellbeing and Weight Loss programme is designed to help you lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off for good. It’s not just about losing weight, but also leading a healthy lifestyle.

Our friendly team of health improvement practitioners are here to help you make small changes. This can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing.

Our pick and mix programme puts you in control.

You will have a choice of sessions across 12 weeks to suit your goals.

Whichever path you take, you’ll gain the tools you need to make lifelong changes.

Our programme includes:

  • A choice of weekly walk and talk sessions. After the walk, there will be the chance to speak with our team for support and information.
  • We will share information and tips for leading a healthy lifestyle.
  • You can attend workshops and drop-in sessions for extra support to keep you on track.

If you have a disability that would stop you from attending a walk, you may like to join us back at the venue for the talk. You can also attend our workshops and drop-in sessions. We can discuss other options if needed.

weight management topics

Each week will feature a new health topic to help you work towards achieving a healthy weight.

Health topics will include:

  • Goal setting, what is your goal?
  • What is a healthy diet? What changes can you make to what you eat? Every small change makes a difference.
  • What amount of each food type should be on a plate? Reducing portions can have a big effect on your weight loss journey.
  • Do you know enough about fats, salts and sugars…where are they hidden?
  • Are you aware of what you eat all the time? What are your triggers?
  • How does being more active help our health and weight loss journey?
  • How stress can affect the food choices we make.
  • Sleep…are you getting enough? How does this affect your health?
  • Plus many more. You might have a topic you want to know more about.

who is this programme for?

To access the programme, you must be 16+ and registered with a Plymouth GP. Your BMI must be over 25.5, or 23 and above for individuals of South Asian, Chinese and Black ethnicities.

If your BMI is greater than 40, we recommend speaking to your GP about the support that is available to you. 

This programme is about making life long changes. Unfortunately, we are not able to prescribe weight loss injections or medications.
