Our One You advisors are currently working hard to offer continuing support to help people across the city to eat healthily and maintain a healthier lifestyles despite the limitations on the services we can offer.

We can offer you 1-to-1 telephone appointments from our Advisors who will advise and support you on a range of topics from tips to avoid over snacking, using healthier alternatives as well as getting you to think about your overall diet.

We are planning our Eat Well courses for the rest of the year so watch this space for announcements of new dates once restrictions are lifted.

NHS Choices 12 Week Plan  

The NHS choices website also has a 12 week plan to help you lose weight safely – and keep it off. The plan is designed to help you lose weight at a safe rate of 0.5kg to 1kg (1lb to 2lb) each week by sticking to a daily calorie allowance and its features include:

Shop 4 Plymouth Online Marketplace Launches

You can now shop locally with independent Plymouth retailers from the safety of your home following the launch of a new online marketplace.

You can buy everything you need – from food and drink to gifts – on Shop 4 Plymouth, which showcases local traders that are open and following Government guidelines, or which are now offering a delivery service instead.

The initiative in response to the COVID-19 crisis has been a team effort by the Plymouth City Centre Company and the City Council, with support from Plymouth Waterfront Partnership.

Sun Awareness Week

The 4th to the 10th May is Sun Awareness Week. With the lovely sunny weather we’ve been having recently hopefully looking to continue for many weeks to come its important to remember your sun safety

This year will be mostly an online campaign aimed at encouraging people to regularly self-examine for skin cancer and secondly to teach people about the dangers of sunburn and excessive tanning, and to discourage people from using sunbeds, in light of the associated risks of skin cancer.
