This time, we meet Alyson who has been with the service since 2007 and currently runs clinics on a Saturday at the Cumberland Centre. Alyson holds a BSc degree in Psychology, and is a registered mental health nurse with a background in substance misuse work.
New Year, New You
Are you thinking of starting the New Year as a New You but are not sure where to start? One You Plymouth are here to offer you the free support and advice you need to start the New Year as a Healthier You.
If your new year’s resolution is to stop smoking, we can offer you 1-2-1 appointments with one of our advisors who will be able to support you to become smoke free. We have appointments across the city most days of the week so why not contact the team on 01752 437177 to make your appointment.
If you would like to learn about healthier eating as well as losing a little bit of weight as a result, we have 3 new Eat well courses starting on the 15th, 16th and 17th January. Contact the team and we’ll book your 1-2-1 now to get you all ready to start your course in January.
We are once again supporting Alcohol Change UK’s “Dry January” campaign in the New Year, encouraging people to give up alcohol for the month. It only takes three weeks to break a habit, so this could be your route to happier, healthier drinking long-term.

Move More Sessions
Did you know that if you have used any of our One You services you can attend our Move More fitness sessions for only £2 per week?
The sessions are held at the Life Centre and friends and family are welcome to attend with you. The sessions are suitable for anyone, regardless of fitness levels or ability, and involve a range of activities and exercises including table tennis, circuits, hand weight exercises, weighted ball exercises and beginner runs/walks with sessions tailored to those who attend each week.
You do not need to book in advance – just turn up at the Life Centre and ask at the main reception for the Move More session and they will signpost you where to go.
